            Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh (b. 1957 Agangarh District, UP) completed his  M.Sc  and Ph.D in Agronomy from the Institute of Agricultural  Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – 221005 in the year  1980 and 1984 respectively. He has maintained good academic record throughout his studies and is the recipient of District Merit Fellowship and Pesticides India Ltd.

                 He has joined in 1984 as a lecturer in the Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, North-Eastern Hill University, Medziphema, Nagaland and in 1988 he became Reader & Head, Department of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, North-Eastern Hill University, Medziphema, Nagaland. After the establishment of Nagaland University (A Central University) he was on deputation to Nagaland University upto June 1999 and he joined later on as a Professor and Head, Department of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema, Nagaland.

             In June 1999, he joined ICAR Research Complex for NEH region, Umiam, Meghalaya as Principal Scientist and Head in the Department of Agronomy. In November 2002, he joined as a Joint Director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Tripura Centre, Lembucherra, Tripura West and served upto March 2010. Presently he is working as Director, ICAR Research Complex for Goa.

          He is the life member of different academic societies in India and abroad. He has visited the Netherlands, France, Thailand, Indonesia and Laos on different academic programmes. He has 45 full length papers in many reputed national/international scientific journals, 104 popular articles, 46 book chapters, 5 books and 32 research/extension bulletins to his credit. He is also associated with the functioning of Agro Advisory Services at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Tripura Centre, Lembucherra.
